The Beauty Changes Lives Foundation, established by AACS, celebrates the rich and rewarding careers in beauty and wellness and helps to make dreams come true with scholarship opportunities for those looking to pursue and further develop a career in beauty & wellness.

To date, BCL has raised over $3 million in cash and in-kind donations and has awarded over$756,000 in scholarships for basic and advanced cosmetology, nail, and massage therapy education programs.

This scholarship offered by the Salon Institute awards incoming students $150 to apply toward their application and registration fees. Please complete the information below. Scholarship applications will be evaluated by a panel of Salon Institute staff and administrators.

The Sylvania Area Chamber of Commerce is a voluntary business organization, comprised of over 500 members and is financed entirely by the members’ investment in time and money.  The Chamber’s Board of Directors and committee members are dedicated to promoting civic and social development throughout the Sylvania area and strongly support the educational opportunities offered through the Sylvania schools.

The Education Committee of the Sylvania Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to offer a scholarship program for Sylvania area high school students. Scholarships (non-renewable) will be awarded to area high school students who meet the eligibility requirements.
$4,000 – 1st Place
$2,500 – 2nd Place
$1,500 – 3rd Place

Future students of the beauty disciplines – including cosmetology, barbering, esthetics and skin care, nail technology, makeup artistry and several others – can apply for these $2,500 scholarships for cosmetology school. This beauty school scholarship is awarded four times per year, and may be used at most schools nationwide. The scholarship recipient is selected from the pool of individuals who submit their scholarship applications before the deadline each quarter, and meet the eligibility criteria outlined in the rules.

Deadlines: January 31, April 30, July 31 and October 31 each year.



Current students, high school students and anyone interested in cosmetology or barbering as a career can apply for a scholarship through the Alice Madden Barton Scholarship program. These scholarships can be used at any cosmetology or barbering school.

The scholarships are given out twice a year in January and July to applicants who can demonstrate a passion for the craft and dedication to developing their skills.

The deadlines for applications are June 30 and December 31.


The Joe Francis Haircare Scholarship Foundation was established in 1994 by his wife of 39 years, Flo Francis, and the many people whom Joe Francis advised and mentored to their own success in the industry. The mission of the foundation is to help deserving students receive financial assistance for the professional training necessary to build successful, long-term careers in the cosmetology industry.

Applications are accepted Jan. 1 through June 1 each year.

Live Beauty Health is hair and beauty online publishing company that reaches over 60,000 readers each month.

The editorial team at Live Beauty Health are passionate about hair and beauty, and want to help others who face financial obstacles that also share this passion. They are offering a $750 scholarship to students who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  1. Applicants must be a currently enrolled student in a high school, college or university (including cosmetology college).
  2. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. resident.


Submit a 500 word essay to telling us why you are passionate about either hair, beauty or cosmetology and how this scholarship will personally help you, to [email protected] with the subject Live Beauty Health Scholarship for Beauty & Cosmetology Scholarship.

Make sure to include your complete name with address and hpone number; the name of your high school, college or university, proof of enrollment/student status.

Applications will be read and judged by the Live Beauty Health editing team who will then select one winner.

Deadline: Aug. 21, 2017.

Winner will be selected by Sept. 15, 2017.
